India also known as ‘Incredible India’ is worlds most famous country. Mainly known for its historical, luxurious, spiritual and oneness diversity. Many historical monuments show its luxurious life at that time. But today we are not able to live that life and have such experience. Many people are so much fond of such life that they have made such houses. And some who live in such historical buildings have not changed a little bit of is originality. But what for others, for them Indian Railways has introduced some luxurious trains, also known as Indian Pride. These trains are provides the most luxurious experience of that time.

Fairy Queen-oldest in luxurious trains




It is in the oldest luxurious trains of both India and as steam locomotive. Its track is between from New Delhi to Alwar. Its history is from the beginning of the end of Indian slavery. It was designed in 1855 in England by Thompson, Hewitson and Kitson and then reached to Calcutta. “Fleet no. 22″ it was its first name given by East Indian Railway Company in 1895.

Its origin was shifted time to time according to the environment needed by Britishers. From West Bengal to Bihar, then to Uttar Pradesh and many more. It spent its maximum time at Howrah Station in West Bengal.
It was retired in 1909 and then in 1972 it was declared as heritage and listed in luxurious trains by Indian Government, and then it was restored to full working after renovation in 1977. Then in 1988 it was listed in Guinness Records. And it got its previous commercial purpose after 88 years on 18 July 1997.



Palace On Wheels-4th in luxurious trains



Palace on wheels listed as 4th in luxurious trains of world, is really a palace in its own. It was designed and launched by Indian Railways for Rajashtan tourism development and promotion in 1982. They provide you a fully experience of luxury and royal life for six days. it became popular on its launched and in 1982 voted as 4th worlds luxurious train. Its logo also says ‘A Week In Wonderland‘, and does so.
Its designed was not inspired from Fairy Queen, but was inspired from princely states of India like Rajashtan, Gujarat, the Nizam of Hyderabad and the living of Viceroy of British India. In starting the royal coaches were ceased to be used by common people. Because it was not so easy to keep the fine artistry without got damaged. But after some time it was fully opened for all and it started its carrier at top level and popularity.



In 1991 it was refurnished and refurbished, and then the train was with service cars, luxurious restaurants, bars private cabins, saloons and kitchen. It also had got attention of BBC, MTV, MDR of Germany, National Geography and many others.Names of its coaches are on the name of royal states and the life style of British India. The trains departs from New Delhi and through eight days it goes on its route through   Jaipur, Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Sawai Madhopur, Chittaurgarh, Udaipur, Bharatpur, and Agra.
It is really a Palace On Wheel providing the luxurious and royal life experience in eight days.



Deccan Odyssey-luxurious trains in blue


One popular thing give birth to its siblings, one of them is this Deccan Odyssey another in these luxurious trains. It was designed on the model of Palace On Wheels. It got green signal to be made in 2002, and after five months it was ready, but nobody was satisfied. Hence after some more designation and modification it was launched in 2003. This blue Limousine when launched got heavily attraction, and its blue color with embroidery was appreciated when placed on tracks

This one of the luxurious trains is like a five star hotel. It has restaurant, spa, business center, fitness center. In 2004 it was closed due to poor response but suddenly in monsoon it was restarted and now it is all day open. It provides a 7 day tour of fully air-conditioned saloons of 4 twin bedrooms, president like saloons, along with living rooms and bed rooms. It starts from Mumbai on Wednesday and return back on Tuesday, going via many stops. Its travel route is Mumbai to Sindhudurg then to Goa reaching Vasco forwarding to Kolhapur then goes on to Aurangabad (Ellora) and Jalgaon(Ajanta) and Nashik ,hence returning back to Mumbai.

Golden Chariot-Karnataka to Goa tour



One of the luxurious trains having a royal color combination and providing the top facilities. It is colored in royal combination of colors of purple and gold, and having logo of animal having head of elephant and body of lion. It was made when the success of Palace on Wheels reached to the ears of Karnataka government. In 2002 it was permitted to be made, 900 designs and engineers before finalizing layout of train. Hard work of 4 months by 200 carpenters and Architect Kusum Pendse, unveiled this train on tracks. This train on its launch was representing the elegance and golden jubilee of Karnataka.

This train connects Karnataka and Goa, and promote tourism even better. It has 11 coaches in which there are 44 cabins. When the came to name every coach, a suggestion was there to remember the great dynasties that ruled over there. And then 11 great dynasties that ruled the region were accepted, which were  Kadamba, Hoysala, Rashtrakuta, Ganga, Chalukya, Bahamani, Adil Shahi, Sangama, Satavahana, Yadukula and Vijayanagar. The Golden Chariot can accommodate 88 passengers providing facilities of two restaurants. bar, gym and spa, conference. It also provides WiFi and satellite connection providing live televisions facility everywhere.

Royal Rajasthan On Wheels-royalty in luxurious trains



This is another train in Rajasthan Luxury trains, made after success of Palace On Wheels. It follows same route along with tourist, heritage and wildlife places foe passengers. The launch of this train was by Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation, to give the tourists a glimpse of wildlife, fortresses history and geographical diversity. Its journey was started on 11th of January 2009.



Names of 13 famous places of Rajasthan are inspiration for every 13 deluxe coaches of train. Names are Hawa Mahal, Umaid Palace, Moti Mahal, Chandra Mahal, Surya Mahal, Sukh Mahal, Jal Mahal, Padmini Mahal, Phool Mahal, Jogi Mahal, Kishori Mahal, Kumbha Palace, Lalgarh Palace. And 1 super deluxe coach is names after Taj Mahal. Two types of dining halls one is made full of crystals and glass and other is of royal stones.

Maharaja Express-most expensive in luxurious trains





Maharaja means most royal king. And as name it is most royal as it is the most expensive for royal life. Train was started in 2010 by IRCTC,  and signed joint venture with RIRTL for oversee functioning. The Society of International Railway Travelers ranked it in Top 25 Trains in World. This train is mostly known for its onboard accommodation, highly providing facilities, off-train excursion programs, and dining facilities.

It provides the most comfortable facilities in train. Even with larger cabins it is engineered with very good suspension, means fully maharajah style in real manner. Attached bathroom, live televisions, WiFi, Direct-to-Home cables, dinning cars, lounge bars. And even marbled and silver fitted bathrooms like a luxury bathrooms. Train provides 23 carriages, with all facilities, every deluxe feature you can imagine. 14 guest carriages of total 88 passengers capacity.
